I've been waiting to submit this until October. It's my Halloween ball! I found the perfect orange thread and thought silhouette work would be sufficiently spooky. The moon is the only "real" temari stitching on this one. There are (of course) 13 spokes in the moon. Materials: cotton machine sewing thread (background), cotton pearl #5 (ground), various metallics (moon), Very Velvet (tree), silk pearl #12 (bats). On the reverse side (not shown here; photos didn't turn out) are a couple twisty little houses also done in the velvet thread. Edit - I submitted this guy to the Halloween contest sponsored by darkfantasy here: [link] and the contest sponsored by =xgnyc here: [link] and the contest sponsored by Ancient-Hoofbeats here: [link]
How cool is this! I got an honorable mention in darkfantasy's contest! Thanks! And congratulations to all the winners.
More coolness! I placed second in the Artisan Crafts category in xgnyc's contest! woot!
Wonderful, I'm making my first temari now and was looking for inspiration, came across this. I want to make a geeky one for my daughter for new year as I saw that was what they do in Japan (not the geeky bit).
congrats
